About two years ago I had been searching for a soap that wouldn't dry and chap my skin, and which came in a scent that I like (thyme). It seemed hopeless, so I finally decided to make my own. So I did, and I also made a body scrub, and a foot scrub, and a lotion, and a cuticle cream.
I fell in love with soapmaking. That figures, because throughout my life I've also fallen in love with: jewelry making, photography, batik, lino-cut printing, fabric painting, sewing, embroidery, beading, papercrafting, mandalas, resin-art, watercolors . . . do you see a trend here? I pretty much love every type of craft that exists.
You'll soon find that I tend to throw myself 100% into projects.
I've now reopened an Etsy shop -- Purple Finch Skin Care -- and am currently selling scented and unscented soap. For this blog, I don't want to spend a lot of time talking about my shop. Everyone can check that out on their own via lilnks on the right. I'd rather talk about the various arts and crafts that I discover and do--sharing with you what I learn, tutorials on a wide variety of crafting topics, links to interesting things I find, and commentary on life in general.
I hope you'll return, and maybe even follow.
Thanks for stopping by!
